Kayu Jaya (Kyoto)

Located on the second floor of our Kyoto Main Store, Kayu Jaya is a tea shop with a bar counter where a wagashi artisan will craft seasonal sweets while explaining the history and techniques used for each confection.

Then you can enjoy the freshly-made sweets with a cup of freshly whisked matcha green tea in the connected lounge with a quaint Japanese garden. Taking photos, videos is OK.

Opening hours: 10:00 - 17:30 (L.O. 17:00) Closed on Wednesdays (open if falls on National Holiday)

We change our namagashi selection once every month to reflect what flowers are in season.

Choose one and the artisan will demonstrate how to make it in front of you over the counter.

We will then bring both the namagashi and a bowl of matcha to a table near the garden for you to enjoy.
